There were also maximums for Scanner Bone, Emma McGarvie, Rob McCoubrey and Paul tuck showing proving that the standard of darts tonight was very high indeed and the the two qualifying pairs had to play out of their skins to make it through.
Scanner Bone had the highest checkout tonight of 98.
In total there were 8 x 180's, 23 x 140's and 64 x 100+ scores. A magnificent acheivement by all the players.

Les Reid had the highest checkout finishing off on 127.
WEEK 3 Qualifiers.
Steven & Dawn Stevenson played John Duncan & Pam Hind in the 1st half final. The Stivvy's played excellent and made the breakthrough knocking out the 2008 winners 2-1.
The 2nd half final matched up Mark Harris & Leanne Howard against John Blaney & MIchelle Black with John a previous winner and runner-up in this tournament with Val Mackins in 2005 and 2006. It was John and Michelle who proved too strong for Mark & Leanne and they won convincingly 2-0.

WEEK 4 Qualifiers.
This week proved to be the night for two pairs alone.
2008 winners and 2009 runners-up, John Duncan & Pam Hind made it through to both finals against Paul Tuck & Heather Steele so no need to play them as they both qualified.
These finals being Paul & Heathers 5th attempt at qualifying this year and made it at the final attempt.
John Duncan hit the only maximum tonight and Pam Hind had the highest checkout finishing off on 80.
Only 1 x 180, 3 x 140's and 47 x 100+ scores this week. One of the lowest scoring nights. This may be down to thelack of legs played as both qualifying pair made it through to finals night without dropping a single leg all night.
A good nights work by both pairs.
FINALS NIGHT
QUARTER FINALS
Bill Hoskins & Sas Bode versus Les Reid & Kerry Wilkinson.
A great start to finals night. Bill & Sas 1-0 up with high scoring. Les & Kerry levelled and again Bill & Sas took the lead only for th ematch to be levelled again.
Les was the highest scorer in the match but it was Sas who finished on 73 to win the match 3-2.
Paul Tuck & Heather Steele versus John Blaney & Michelle Black.
John & Michelle set off the better but Paul secured the second leg to level the match at 1-1. John & Michelle then took over and both scored highly to take the match 3-1 in style.
Steven & Dawn Stevenson versus John Duncan & Pam Hind
The Stivvy's had defeated the 2008 champions in week 3 qualifying and so John & Pam wanted revenge.
A great match ensued with the Stivvy's taking a 2-0 with Steven's consistent high scoring making a strong account of himself. John took the 3rd leg on double 16 and then Pam took the 4th leg on the dreaded double 1 as both pairs were missing doubles. This levelled the match at 2-2 and John & Pam were in the ascendancy. Both John and Steven hit 140's and both Dawn & Pam hit 100's in the first 4 throws. Exciting stuff. Dawn had first attempt at tops but missed leaving 20. John missed his chance to take the match and Steven hit double 10 at the 2nd attempt to go through.
Mike Reid & Norma Skelton versus Mark Steele & Emma McGarvie.
Emma & Mark first out of the blocks with an 18 dart leg. They went 2-0 when Emma hit double tops and it looked easy for them. Mike then hit 3 x 100's on the bounce to take the 3rd leg and now at 2-1 anything can happen. With Mike & Norma now scorign well it looked like they would level the match until Mark stepped up and checked out on 101 to finish the match off.
SEMI FINALS
Bill Hoskins & Sas Bode versus John Blaney & Michelle Black.
A great first semi final with Bill & Sas as four times finalists and John Blaney twice a finalist this was always going to be a close affair.
Sas finished to take leg 1. John checked out on 58 to level the match at 1-1. Bill then checked out on 68 to re-take the lead 2-1. John's high scoring left him tops to finish on and again level thematch at 2-2. The final leg was exciting as all four players had chances to take the final leg but eventually John ended his frustration hitting double 2 to take himslef and Michelle through to the grand final.
Steven & Dawn Stevenson versus Mark Steel & Emma McGarvie.
We were expecting another close encounter by these pairs and we go tone too.
Dawn hit double 16 for the first leg. Marks high scoring was always going to be trouble for the Stivvy's as he hit a maximum in leg 2 to level the match 1-1. Steven hit back banging double top at with his first dart. Mark hit double 2 in a scrappy 4th leg to again level the match at 2-2.
The excitement wasn't over yet though. All four player scoring pretty well it came down to double tops for both pairs. Emma first throwing well was left with one dart at double 20 and hit the wire and watched in despair as her dart fell to the floor. this only spurred Steven on who also required 40. His first dart was well high but his second foun dthe target and they were on their way to their first final.
GRAND FINAL
John Blaney & Michelle Black versus Steven & Dawn Stevenson.
A great final that required all 7 legs to seperate these two pairs.
John, twice a finalist here was scoring well and Michelle finished on tops to take the 1st leg.
Dawn then finished on 44 to level the match at 1-1.
A scrappy 3rd leg went down to double 1 who John finally hit to go 2-1 up.
Again John scoring high and looking good to take the 4th leg but a ton from dawn left Steven 83. Hitting 17, treble 16 and double 17 for finished an unorthodox checkout to again level the match at 2-2.
Steven then finished on double 15 to take them into a 3-2 lead for the first time in the match.
What a response though from John & Michelle. John hitting double 16 and completing the leg in 16 darts to out immense pressure on the Stivvy's and again level the match at 3-3 and now it's a 1 leg decider for the trophy.
Steven's consistent ton scoring set them up first and even though John & Michelle were breathing down their necks Steven checked out on 66 to take the championship in thrilling style and to much applause by all those watching.
A very exciting finish to an excellent tournament.
